Mass Exodus is a fashion event that has been cultivated by and for the students in the School of Fashion at Ryerson University for the past 30 years. This is where graduating students from the School of Fashion are introduced to the industry and the public through a showcase of their work. With both Runway and Installation components, Mass Exodus 2018 will continue to embody its guiding principles of diversity, heritage, innovation and community.

MASS EXODUS 2018: INSTALLATION
Explore various forms of art and design executed by graduating fashion students. The Installation provides a glimpse into the future of fashion, with diverse mediums of projects that tackle social issues or suggest new pathways and opportunities for the fashion industry. The Installation is open to the public for free on April 4, 2018, from 1:30 PM until 4:30 PM and an industry Open House from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM.

THE CURATOR: ROSSA JURENAS
Schwarzkopf North American Colour Director, Rossa Jurenas will be joining Mass Exodus as this year’s curator, selecting the designers to create the lineup for the final show on April 6th at Daniels Spectrum.
In her over 19 years in the industry, Jurenas’ innovative hair styling and colouring work has her collect an array of awards, including multiple wins at the North American Hairstyling Awards. The Ontario native also works as a makeup artist, educator, and Schwarzkopf InternationalColour Director, sharing her knowledge at top salons around the world. Her groundbreaking hair styles and designs have led her to work with top fashion designers like Vera Wang, Alice and Olivia, and Lucian Matis. Jurenas’ work has been featured in Flare, InStyle, Elle, and on America’s Next Top Model.
DANIELS SPECTRUM
All Mass Exodus 2018 events will take place at Daniels Spectrum. Located in Toronto’s Regent Park neighbourhood, the community-oriented cultural hub will be the home of Mass Exodus for the second time. The Mass Exodus Installation and Runway Shows will be held in Ada Slaight Hall, a transformative space that will enhance and appropriately show off students work.
