Personify is an art-to-wear collection designed for Spring/Summer 2019. The inspiration for the collection lies within the current era where the co-existence of technology and nature prove to be a dynamic partnership. Through this experimental collection Tse intends to play with the juxtaposing relationship between nature and man through the process of personification. This transformative process allows the state of inanimate objects to be humanized or given natural qualities. Therefore the designer plans to cultivate this concept through personifying the idea of fashion. To exemplify this idea the collection will feature unconventional man-made materials such as suction cups that will be manipulated using innovative techniques in order to alter the surface quality thus changing its intended use. Once they are personified these man-made materials will exemplify intrinsic features born to man and nature such as the idea of breathing.
