Based upon true experiences, 2:Face is a narrative comic that tells that story of young an Afro-Latina girl and her qualms of her identity within a predominately white society. The story follows her experiences navigating through this fragile line of acceptance varying from her peers to her family,and the loss of childhood innocence in the realms of reality. The intend of this comic is to understand how themes of racism, colourist, internalized racism, and the complexities of Latina families can affect the innocence of a child who realizes her race and identity are valued differently in society compared to others. It is then she begins to understand her identity must be reclaimed in a society that wishes to invalidate her existence in Latino Culture.
